About

CLARITY IS AMONG MANY QUALITIES that the online media universe has so far failed to deliver. The superabundance of information generated and distributed daily on the Internet means that making sense of the world has become a more complex task for those of us interested in detail.

The intelligence field is part of that important —yet routinely unseen— detail that shapes our lives. On a regular basis lives are saved or lost, protected or threatened, entire nations are born or perish through the use of espionage systems and intelligence techniques that remain largely unknown to the non-expert. And yet the importance of intelligence operations is rarely accentuated by the conglomerates that shape the news agenda about crucial global developments.

This project is a joint effort by two intelligence experts, Dr. Joseph Fitsanakis and Ian Allen. Both specialists in the field of espionage and intelligence, Fitsanakis and Allen filter through the melodrama and sensationalism of the daily news to bring to the surface intelligence-related developments that rarely make news headlines. They then elaborate on these developments by posting occasional, carefully researched and crafted commentaries and analyses, which bring together the various news items relating to a particular story or subject.

This site is free. It is not driven by profit or by other narrow-minded aspirations. Rather, it is driven by the will of two colleagues and friends to share their passion for the study of intelligence in a systematic and accessible way. Thanks for visiting, and make sure to drop us a line to let us know what you think of our effort.
